Drummer - Music Producer - Music Director

"Pututi" inherited his father's music nickname when he decided to pursue his passion for music to become a professional drummer. He left his home in Santa Clara, Cuba at the young age of 15 as he received a scholarship to study at one of Havana's most prestigious music conservatories: "The ENA", where he was a student of renowned percussion master José Luis “Changuito” Quintana.

His career as a professional drummer began at the age of 17, when he joined one of the most popular bands in the country in the 90's: “Manolín El Médico de la salsa". In 1998, he came to the United States to work with renowned artists: DLG, Camila, Issac Delgado, Luis Enrique, Jorge Villamizar, Donato Poveda, Manuel Valera, Descemer Bueno, Gente De Zona, Amaury Gutiérrez, Ed Calle and Concha Buika, among others.

In 2003, "Pututi" took his journey to another dimension when he joined the band of the great teacher "Arturo Sandoval", touring extensively in the USA and Europe, sharing the stage with great artists such as Al Jarreau, Alicia Keys, Chick Korea, Jamie Cullum, Pat Metheny, among many others.

Another of his passions is musical composition and production, in which has had the joy of working with greats like Kike Santander, Donato Poveda and Jorge Villamizar, creating hits for Patricia Manterola as well as developing new projects and talents.

"Pututi" is a master of his instrument not only because of his technique and experience, but for the ecstasy that he provokes with his temperament and passion as an instrumentalist and very same as a person.

His career and art are as colorful and vibrant as his own life.
